The Royal Observatory in Greenwich is steeped in history and full of stories, making it a great place to visit. Completed in 1893, the ‘Onion Dome’ of the Royal Observatory was originally made from papier-mâché. It houses one of the biggest telescopes in the world and is still used today to help us observe the planets, stars and sun. The design on this top features the Royal Observatory Greenwich centre stage amongst other London iconic buildings such as Big Ben and The Shard.
